  • Description

Many will know that maps of the World distort distances, directions, sizes, etc because they are trying to portray a round object on a flat surface. A great circle map provides a different way of looking at the globe that is particularly useful to Radio Amateurs. These maps look out from a spot in the World and portray the bearing and distance of where somewhere is on the planet. This new RSGB Great Circle Map is centred on the UK and provides at a glance information on the path to those far off and unusual contacts.

This high-quality map is printed onto a thick 135gsm paper, with a glossy laminate finish to protect the map for years to come. The main map is even supplemented by two sub maps that provide a more detailed views of Europe and the Caribbean from a UK perspective. The full colour RSGB Great Circle map also includes the country names and prefix information, making it not only useful for Radio Amateurs but an attractive addition to any shack wall.

So, if perhaps you want to know what direction to point your antenna for that elusive contact in Alaska (340-350 degrees) this map will give that at glance. Delivered in a sturdy postal-tubes these maps are 610x610mm and are great for any radio amateur shack.

Please note that maps are not available for delivery to addresses outside the UK
