Basic Principles
A good understanding of the basic principles and physics of matter, electronics and radio communication is essential if the self training implicit in amateur radio is to be realised. These principles are not particularly difficult and a good grasp will allow the reader to understand the following material rather than simply accepting that it is true but not really knowing why. This will, in turn, make more aspects of the hobby both more attractive and enjoyable.
