The purpose of this chapter is to give the reader an insight into what is available to the radio amateur on the VHF and UHF bands in the UK. We hope that the topics will also be of interest to our readers from abroad. There is some theory about the choice of the equipment to use but the emphasis is on the practical aspects of choosing equipment and enhancing it with preamplifiers and power amplifiers to give you a station that can be used to its maximum effect.
